We had to pull the girls out of their cribs while they were still sleeping yesterday afternoon in order to get to get to church in time for Mass. Smidge was practically velcroed to her mattress. While Tony brought her down to the car, Lovey and I were getting our coats on. Lovey looked up at me with her big blue eyes and in her "I'm sleepy because I just woke up from a nap" voice she asked where Smidge was; she seemed very concerned.
"She's in the car, sweetie," I said. Then I asked, "Do you love your sissy?"
Lovey replied very matter-of-factly, "She's my best friend."
Granted, they were fighting over a paper towel roll this morning, but it was a sweet moment.
